“Clarity is the Path to Inner Peace”

This acrylic piece is 14X18 inches and was created in my home studio in beautiful North Battleford. It is a homage to the Southwest and pop culture! I love the Simpsons and space Coyote is one of my favourite one off characters. That said space coyote is a bit of an offensive character of a “spirit animal” so I had fun taking an indigenous inspired character created by a white lens, and filtering it back through an indigenous one. I played with pattern and blacklight reaction to pay homage to the many beautiful neon signs that grace the southwest, particularly the motels and diners along Route 66 where I have enjoyed time travelling and visiting my American friends. This piece was created with professional artist grade paints, but like all blacklight reactive paintings it will eventually fade (the neon colours anyway). I strategically layer neon colours over top of similar, lightfast colours to minimize the fading, and so long as it is kept out of direct sunlight and fading that occurs will be minimal and happen very slowly.
