“Damwahselle” is a an original painting featuring a barn owl, and three dragonflies. This painting was created out of my home in beautiful North Battleford, and was inspired by embracing owls and dragonflies as messengers from the afterlife. The painting uses an extremely bright colour, otherworldly colour palette and incorporates traditional arts and crafts techniques used in a mixed media application including caribou tufting and beadwork. Both are sewn right into the canvas (the tufting also has a layer of moose hide behind it).
The painting measures 16 inches in diameter,  and the sides of the canvas are already painted making it ready to hang on a wall and display as is!
